Experience Bangladesh through the eyes of an Eighteen year old – IRFAN IFTISHAM PROVASH.

Experience Bangladesh through the eyes of an Eighteen year old photographer from Jamalpur, Mymensingh district of Bangladesh.

Presenting the extraordinary monochrome compositions of Irfan Iftisham Provash, a super talented photographer who has the potential of making it big in the photography world. This young boy is the new upcoming talent and he has the capability to cement his name in the hall of fame alongside the other greats of photography.

Irfan has craftfully documented the scenes around the river Jamuna in Jamalpur, Bangladesh. The Jamuna River is one of the three main rivers of Bangladesh. It is the lower stream of the mighty Brahmaputra River of Assam, India which originates in Tibet as Yarlung Tsangpo, before flowing into India and then southwest into Bangladesh. The Jamuna flows south and joins the Padma river (Podda) famous for it’s Hilsa Fish, near Goalundo Ghat, before meeting the Meghna River near Chandpur. It then flows into the Bay of Bengal as the Meghna River.

River Padma (Podda) is famous for it’s Hilsa Fish which is favorite amongst the bengalis of India & Bangladesh.

Irfan, through his photographs has tried to tell the stories of the common people and their daily activities near the Jamuna river. The river Jamuna is their lifeline. For some this river is the main source of income. During dryer seasons this river bank serves as a market place where a lot of trading happens but during rainy season the River swells and brings floods which is a major issue each year for the Bangladeshis.

Below we are showcasing some of the beautiful photographs by Irfan Iftisham Provash which are shot around the Jamuna river.
