It won’t be wrong to say that I am an accidental photographer. Photography just happened to me. If at all I knew anything about photography was to get photographed rather than taking photographs. I am sure if I had picked up any other form of art at that given point of time in my life, I would have given my best to it as I did to this art. I truly believe in the quote which says “In the time of destruction, create something” It was that phase of my life when I found a resort in photography and completely owe my saneness to this art.
Hi, my name is Chanda Mathur and being a self-taught photographer I am completely obsessed with this art. I work on aesthetics rather than the technical know-how of photography. I believe if a person has an eye for beauty, he/she will extract something extraordinary out of the mundane. I started photography with my small digicam and my primary intent was to compose the photograph right because a well composed photograph has a narrative to catch an eye.

One can start photography with any basic gear. It’s not a big deal to bring out the best photographs from exquisite locations and elaborate sets but you don’t have to go to any exclusive locations to showcase your photography talent, you can do it right from where you are, provided you have an eye for it. Playing with composition, mood and light is the key to create a drama in any mundane scene. Here are some photographs as an example to show that any basic camera and any place you are in is a good place to photograph, just play around with the light and mood. That’s it!
My Gear : Canon 5D Mark III and Nikon D90.
